Features Of The Wii Charge Station

If you are looking to get a new Wii charge station there are several basic features you need to make sure it has before you buy. These features should be on any of the third party Wii charge stations, especially ones like the Nyko Wii charge station.

What To Look For In Your Wii Charge Station

The first thing you want to make sure of is the battery and battery life on the Wii charge station. There is nothing more frustrating then going to play and having your remote die in the middle of game. You then have to put it back on the charger and wait for it to get powered up. I generally would for remotes with NiMH batteries that have around 24 hours of play time. These batteries should be able to be charged simply by placing the remote in the charge station.

Also, you want to check to make sure that the plug on the charge station is long enough to reach where you need it to go. Usually a cord length of around six feet should be sufficient to place the charger in a convenient spot. Anything longer then this and you may end up tripping over the cord and trying to find a good place to put it. If it is shorter it may not be able to reach from the outlet to where you need it to go.

Next I would look to see what the cover options for the rechargeable batteries are. On your Wii charge station you probably are going to want have covers that have a little grip to them so that you can use the controller without fear that it is going to slip from your hands. Most Wii charge stations should provide something like this, but double check just to make absolutely sure.

Lastly check to see what the warranty is like for the station. It more then likely is going to be frequently used so make sure that you have the protection in place to get it replaced if it breaks. Generally speaking the batteries should have a life of a couple years, but if they are bad they can go quickly. I would look for something that carries a minimum of a two year guarantee. This will give you the piece of mind to know that you can okay your Wii and your Wii charge station will keep your remotes up and running.

If your Wii charge station meets all of these criteria you should be good to play for years to come.
